Ms. Heavican's practice currently focuses on general civil and transactional matters. Ms. Heavican initially came to the firm as a paralegal for Bruce H. Brodkey and is now working as an associate attorney for the firm. She was admitted to practice law in Iowa and Nebraska in 2012. She is looking forward to building her practice with Brodkey, Peebles, Belmont & Line, LLP.

Ms. Heavican obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications from Doane College in May 2007, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law in December 2011. While attending law school, she clerked for a general practice firm for two and half years.

Outside of the firm, Ms. Heavican has enjoyed being active in the educational community, including teaching students for a college paralegal program and being a mentor for several law students as they completed their undergraduate and doctorate degrees.
