Restrictive Covenants • Discrimination • Termination • Compensation

Employment litigation requires sharp courtroom skills and familiarity with applicable state and federal laws. The employment law attorneys of Brodkey, Peebles, Belmont & Line have both the experience and the knowledge to compete in this arena.

  • Employee Agreements — Restrictive covenants protect employers from theft of trade secrets and unfair competition, but they can be too broad in limiting the rights of workers who leave a company. We represent businesses and employees in disputes over non-compete agreements, confidentiality agreements and release agreements.
  • Employment Discrimination — We represent either party in claims of sexual harassment or workplace discrimination on the basis of age, race, national origin, religion or gender. We also handle cases of discrimination under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), including pregnancy discrimination.
  • Wrongful Discharge — Our attorneys represent whistleblowers fired for reporting an employer's fraud, safety violations or illegal activity, or defend the employer in spurious claims. An action for wrongful termination may also stem from discrimination or contractual stipulations.
  • Wages and Severance — Our attorneys represent clients in two large cases involving severance pay and the Wage Payment Collection Act. We can draft or litigate severance agreements, or handle wage and hour disputes such as unpaid overtime.

Our lawyers will evaluate your case and explain your possible exposure to damages (employers) or potential legal remedies (employees). Contact Brodkey, Peebles, Belmont & Line to arrange a confidential consultation at our Omaha office, including evening or weekend appointments.
